How does this show work?
This is an interactive show where the audience moves around the park with one of Santa’s helpers. You’ll be guided in small groups between different performance areas to meet various Christmas characters. You won’t be standing in any one place for longer than 5-7 minutes, and there will be dances to enjoy between scenes.
How long is the show?
The complete show runs for 60 minutes, including all scenes and movement between locations. This makes it perfect for families with young children while still providing a full theatrical experience.
How much walking is involved?
The total walking distance is approximately 200 meters throughout the entire show. The park is relatively small, and you’ll be guided between scenes by one of Santa’s Helpers. Most pathways are paved, though there are some grassy areas.
Is the show accessible?
While the park has some accessibility limitations, we have mobile ramps available to assist with the two small steps at each scene location. Please let us know in advance if you require wheelchair access so we can ensure the best possible experience.
What age group is the show suitable for?
The show is designed for everyone from age 3 to 90! It’s a true family experience with songs, stories, and interactive moments that appeal to all ages. Young children will love meeting the characters, while adults can enjoy the festive atmosphere and sing along to some classic Christmas songs.
How many people can attend each show?
We limit each performance to 130 people to ensure everyone gets an intimate, magical experience. We strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot, especially for the 4:30pm and 6pm shows.
What time should I arrive?
Doors open 30 minutes before each advertised performance time, and we recommend arriving during this time to enjoy the pre-show atmosphere. This gives you plenty of time before your magical journey begins. Please note that each performance starts promptly at its advertised time. Shows run at 1:30pm, 3pm, 4:30pm, and 6pm.
Will there be refreshments available?
Yes! We’ll be serving festive treats including hot chocolate, mulled wine, tea, coffee, mince pies, and other Christmas snacks throughout the performance times.
What should I wear?
As this is an outdoor winter show, we recommend warm, comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for walking on both paved and grassy areas. Don’t forget hats, scarves, and gloves!
What happens if it rains or snows?
The show will continue in light rain or snow – it adds to the festive atmosphere! We have some covered areas for shelter during heavier rain. In case of severe weather, we will contact ticket holders with alternative arrangements.
Are there toilets available?
Yes, toilet facilities are available in Bury Lodge Park.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
While we do sell tickets on the day (subject to availability), we strongly recommend booking in advance as each performance has limited capacity. This is especially important if you’re planning to attend with a larger group.
How much are tickets?
Individual tickets are £12-15, and we offer a family ticket for £50 (2 adults and 2 children or 3 children and 1 adult). Book online at www.smptheatre.co.uk
